You Should Avoid These Types of Songs on Your Big Day
Your wedding day is supposed to be one of the happiest and most amazing moment of your life – so it only makes sense that you would want to create something genuinely unforgettable.
Of course, the music you choose for your wedding is extremely important – but there are a few types of songs you should avoid (not because they don’t sound amazing, but because they simply are not be suitable for your big day).
Songs that are too sexual. OK, we know these are fun to dance to especially when it comes to parties but do keep in mind that you will most likely invite people of all ages to your wedding. Can you imagine your grandma singing along to less than “clean” lyrics? Don’t forget about young children being exposed to anything in this genre. It’s probably best if you avoid anything too risque all together.
Songs that talk about breakups. Some of these are quite obvious, but some of them might not be as obvious. For instance, I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston is about a very sad breakup – yet, the song keeps being perceived as a very romantic one (and thus, it’s even included in first dance moments).
Songs that are all in the same genre. It is perfectly fine that you want to include songs that speak to your musical taste – but do make sure you mix it up.
